DETAILS FOR BULLET POINT 1: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2019
On Sunday, November 24, 2019 GST Cervantes traveled from Las Vegas, NV, after attending the Guide Dogs of America fundraiser, to Houston, Texas. Houston is not her domicile but her former hometown. She then took a vacation day on Monday. On Tuesday she fraudulently stated she attended the monthly Local Lodge 2198 member meeting. There was not a Local Lodge 2198 member meeting on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
GST Cervantes charged IAM Members $636.98 fraudulently, as referenced by her Metropolitan Travel Itinerary, by claiming she attended Local Lodge 2198’s monthly member meeting. As referenced below, Local Lodge 2198 conducts its monthly union meeting on the first THURSDAY of every month, which occurred on November 7, 2019. I further verified with the President of LL2198 that no meeting of any type took place that day at the lodge. GST Cervantes further defrauded IAM Members by submitting $100 per diem for that day, as well as submitting expenses of $24.36 for using her personal vehicle. This is the definition of fraud and is against the law and our values as IAM Members.
In this one Weekly Report, GST Cervantes defrauded IAM Members of $761.34. This by itself should force her to resign as IAM GST.

In this particular instance, GST Cervantes is in Houston and claims to have performed “membership education” on Sunday, October 2, 2016 and Monday, October 3, 2016. No “membership education" ever took place on Sunday and Monday October 2nd and 3rd. GST Cervantes then flies first class back to Washington DC, spending $747.10.
She then returns to Houston on Thursday, October 6, 2016 to attend LL2198’s meeting, which there is no official union business purpose for attending. Then, she spends the weekend in Houston and claims she is performing union business. GST Cervantes claims “membership education” on Friday, October 7, 2016, which never occurred. On Saturday, October 8, 2016, GST Cervantes claims she attended “AFL-CIO membership meetings,” which also never occurred. On Monday, October 10, 2016, she stays in Houston and again claims fictitious “membership education.” On Tuesday, October 11, 2016 she flies back to Washington DC on union members’ dues dollars.
This entire sad episode of fraud and theft cost IAM Members $2,714.03 in fraudulent first and business class airfares, per diem and personal car mileage.
