![]() Last night, 13 IAM Local Lodges around the United States conducted their local membership votes to determine which candidate their lodge would officially nominate and endorse for the position of Grand Lodge Secretary Treasurer (GST). At every local lodge in which Ian Scott-Anderman sought a local lodge’s endorsement, she won. This is the first time in the history of the IAM that that a challenger to an IAM Executive Council position has won every local lodge endorsement sought, and so many total local lodge endorsements.“I would like to thank every IAM member who participated in our democratic process,” said Ms. Scott-Anderman. “Change is coming to the GST’s office. Integrity will be restored. With your support we will end the corruption, mismanagement and unprofessionalism that has stained our union under Ms. Cervantes’ tenure.” The local lodge ”run-off” votes that were held yesterday took place at IAM local lodges around the country that nominated both Sister Ian Scott-Anderman and current GST Dora Cervantes. Sister Scott-Anderman has received more than triple the necessary 25 IAM local lodge nominations needed to be on the ballot for the April general election. “With almost 20 years as a financial officer at the local and district levels in our great union, I will be ready on day one,” continued Scott-Anderman. In 2012 Cervantes was appointed as a “Special Representative” to former GST Robert Roach. She was then appointed as GST in 2015 upon Roach’s retirement. Since, two separate IAM General Vice President’s have been assigned to “assist” Cervantes in her role as GST costing IAM members millions of dollars in unnecessary spending, removing assets that could have otherwise benefitted IAM members.
